Here are some shots of the steel string built in my class from this semester. It was built from an LMI kit. The side fret markers are inlaid ebony and maple. Bindings are flame maple, Sitka Spruce top and EIR back and sides and Ebony fretboard and bridge. The neck is mahogany laminated with maple and EIR
The finish is catalyzed urethane.
ENJOY!

Thanks everyone for the compliments everyone. The story behind those fret markers is interesting. I at first installed round ebony dots but wasn't happy with the results. Me thinks to meself...this is an opportunity to be creative! So, I removed the round ebony dots and inlaid a piece of square ebony in the binding. It was a bit too much ebony for my tastes so I decided to break it up a bit. I then inlaid a piece of maple purfling in the middle of the ebony and that made it acceptable again. I would love to say that I thought up this design and set out to execute it but it just kind of evolved into what you see. Anyone ever had that happen?
Merry Christmas and may we all install many fret markers in the upcoming year
